ELECTRO-MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

 

SUMMARY: Responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing and adjusting all manufacturing equipment in the plant consisting of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday, Weekends and Holidays as needed

 

Job Duties

 

  • General Industrial maintenance to include, but not limited to lubricating, repairing, rebuilding, trouble shooting, and cleaning production machines. Other duties to consist of infrastructure maintenance and fabrication. This includes welding, cutting, grinding, carpenter work, and operating shop machines drill press, grinders, saws, and other hand tools.

  • Preform maintenance and repair lift trucks, air compressors, and other process support equipment.

  • Perform electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, HVAC, and outside y ard work.

  • Accurately carry out and assist in the development of preventative maintenance procedures.

  • Utilize the CMMS and other resources to provide maintenance planning.

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines following diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.

  • Work with production personnel to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues.

  • Work in conjunction with outside contractors and/or vendors as well as OEM’s to troubleshoot and make repairs to plant equipment.

  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

  • Wire and install AC/DC motors, drives, and motion control equipment.

  • Electrical trouble shooting using the proper tools and PPE.

  • Controls downtime by performing routine preventive maintenance techniques.

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communication actions including phone or other.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree and completion of a craft apprentice, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.

Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills as well as PLC, HMI and frequency drive experience.

Licenses or Certifications: Controls, Automation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical preferred

  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary
